Marriott and MGM are in the process of launching a partnership, and it’s expected to go live in early 2024.
GLOMarriott and MGM have announced plans for an exclusive long-term strategic licensing agreement, and the creation of MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, which will launch in early 2024. This encompasses 17 properties and over 40,000 guest rooms across the United States, in Las Vegas and beyond.
Of the 17 MGM properties that are part of the MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy, we’ll see four properties directly affiliated with existing Marriott collection brands:
- Bellagio Resort & Casino will join Luxury Collection
- ARIA Resort & Casino will join Autograph Collection
- Park MGM will become part of Tribute Portfolio
- The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas will continue its affiliation with Autograph Collection
On top of that, eight MGM resorts in Las Vegas will join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy:
- Vdara Hotel & Spa
- MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
- NoMad Las Vegas
- The Signature at MGM Grand
- Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino
- New York-New York Hotel & Casino
- Luxor Hotel and Casino
- Excalibur Hotel & Casino
Lastly, five other MGM properties in the United States will join MGM Collection with Marriott Bonvoy:
- Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey
- Beau Rivage in Biloxi, Mississippi
- MGM Grand in Detroit, Michigan
- MGM National Harbor in Maryland
- MGM Springfield in Massachusetts
The partnership is supposed to launch in the near future, though we don’t yet have an exact date for when it’s supposed to go live. Unfortunately we have seen some delays to the timeline, and I imagine that has something to do with the massive data hack the MGM recently dealt with.
The collaboration between Marriott Bonvoy and MGM Rewards involves providing mutual advantages to over 180 million Marriott Bonvoy members and over 40 million MGM Rewards members. This encompasses reciprocal elite recognition, as well as opportunities for earning and redeeming points.
It’s important to highlight that, for Marriott Bonvoy members, the ability to earn or redeem points and access elite benefits is exclusive to bookings made directly through Marriott. Opting for direct bookings with MGM will result in the ineligibility for perks or points, and, in some instances, potentially encountering lower rates.
Furthermore, coming soon, enrolled members will be able to transfer points between Marriott Bonvoy and MGM Rewards.
