The retailer has expanded the payment option for drivers who want a seamless and touchless experience across the brand’s service stations.
GLOCircle K has introduced its “Pay by Plate” feature across its retail network in Latvia. This service enables drivers to easily pay for refueling by simply pressing a button.
To use this service, customers must download the Circle K Easy Fuel app, input their vehicle’s license plate number and payment card details, and allow the app to determine their location. Once these steps are completed, customers can drive up to the fuel pump and begin refueling.
Upon payment, a receipt will be sent to their email and stored within the app. Additionally, the app offers a one-click purchase confirmation option for added convenience.
Rokas Laurinavičius, Head of Fuel Category for the Baltics at Circle K, expressed confidence that this service will enhance convenience for many customers, eliminating the need to carry a wallet for payments at the petrol station. They can simply fill up and drive away.
To celebrate the launch, Circle K conducted an experiment where participants had to refuel with 5 liters of fuel and pay using different methods. The “Pay by Plate” method combined with refueling proved to be the fastest, as recorded by the participants’ times.
