This role will be part of the Amex Digital Labs Organization, on the Business Development, Partnerships, & Strategy team, reporting to the Director, Future of Membership
Amex Digital Labs is responsible for catalyzing digital innovation at American Express by originating, incubating, and leading emerging products and partnerships that represent significant business building opportunities both in terms of driving revenue and customer impact. We strive to emphasize creativity, customer centricity, and innovation. Focus areas include crafting industry-leading digital payment & commerce solutions, using our outstanding servicing network and lifestyle assets to build digital experiences, and defining new products and services based on emerging technologies and trends. This is a fast-paced team driving the development of digital payment solutions and partner experiences at American Express.
The Business Development, Partnerships, & Strategy team within Amex Digital Labs is responsible for a broad range of critical initiatives across third party digital wallets, eComm solutions, peer-to-peer payments, messaging platforms, digital identity and other emerging technologies.
The Future of Membership team is focused on driving the next generation of Amex Membership through digital innovation which encompasses identifying and building new partnerships, products and services that enhance the meaning and value of membership, drive connectivity, and deliver future revenue growth. We are looking for a Manager to lead go-to-market strategy and partnerships for a new digital product at the forefront of emerging technology. You will jump in quickly to lead the product marketing workstream and oversee go-to-market planning while working in lock-step with internal Product and Marketing counterparts as well as external agency partners. You will also lead partner sourcing and contract negotiations. You will collaborate extensively with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders across legal, compliance, product, marketing, and finance among others.
The ideal candidate will have 3+ years work experience in a similar role or function, will be a self-starter who excels in white space, and will have some product marketing, partner-facing, and/or product experience. Strong interest and/or experience working in dining, travel, experiences and/or artificial intelligence, an excitement to drive new initiatives forward, and collaboration skills are a must. Prior experience bringing a new digital product to market end-to-end, partner contracting, marketing execution, and/or brand strategy a plus.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with advertising, marketing, PR, brand, and product colleagues to deliver impactful product launches
- Develop and adapt partnership/go to market strategies to meet AXP goals in rapidly evolving ai landscape.
- Effectively establish, scope, manage, and grow relationships with internal and external partners
- Collaborate with product, enablement, and other Amex teams to develop new products, experiences, and market expansions
- Identify new business opportunities, source, negotiate new and expand strategic partnerships, and develop materials to obtain internal alignment from senior level stakeholders
- Stay on the pulse of evolving lifestyle services and ai landscape to identify, analyse, and document new partnership opportunities, drive the strategic roadmap of existing partnerships, and monitor competition.

- Consistent record of delivering market-leading initiatives
- Collaborative with exceptional interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
- Adaptable to work with collaborators across different functions and levels of seniority
- Creative problem solver who can collaborate with partner teams to brainstorm compelling consumer experiences, and business strategies that drive AXP goals
- Strong partner manager, prior contract negotiation experience a plus
- Strong program management skills to lead end-to-end partnerships and workstreams
- Exceptional skill in getting results against ambitious timelines, handling multiple priorities, and ensuring flawless execution
- Has a pulse on consumer behavior, digital trends, and start-ups.
- Desire to work on innovative and evolving initiatives in travel, dining, experiences, payments, banking, and ai.

Salary Range: $80,000.00 to $155,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we’ll consider your location, experience, and other job-related factors.
