Arabian Travel Market Day 1 and Day 2 saw Emirates announcing expanding its cooperation with Malaysia, Turkey and expanding its fleet and routes amid surging travel demand. Saudia has announced a partnership with the Arab National Bank (anb) to introduce the Visa Signature and Infinite credit cards, as well as partnerships with Red Sea Global and AIUIa. Qatar Airways takes home 3 awards from Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2024.
GLOArabian Travel Market 2024 exhibition commenced in Dubai on May 6th and 7th, featuring a variety of announcements:
Emirates:
- Emirates, the Official Airline of the 2024 Arabian Travel Market (ATM), received His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group at its stand during the opening of the region’s largest travel and trade event.
- Emirates announces first 9 destinations to join its A350 network. Bahrain will be first destination served by the Emirates A350, introducing Premium Economy seats on Middle East/GCC regional routes for the first time. Emirates Premium Economy seats will be available on 42 destinations* by February 2025.
- Emirates and the China Cultural Centre in the UAE have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the sidelines of the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) in Dubai to develop inbound traffic into China from the airline’s global network.
- Emirates signs MoUs with Tourism Boards of Malaysia and Turkey, and Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce. These agreements demonstrate the airline’s commitment to entice more travellers across its network of more than 140 destinations to experience the sights, culture and attractions of each destination, in addition to supporting travel opportunities for local UAE companies and SMEs.
- Emirates to retrofit an additional 71 A380s and B777s, extending airline’s nose-to-tail cabin refreshes to 191 aircraft.
Saudia Airlines:
- Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, and Red Sea Global (RSG), announced a strategic partnership to streamline travel experiences for Red Sea Global and its affiliates. The agreement was signed by Arved Von Zur Muehlen, Chief Commercial Officer of Saudia, and Ahmad Darwish, RSG Group Chief Administrative Officer, during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held at the Dubai World Trade Center. This partnership will enable the employees of the Red Sea Global and its affiliates to have access to exclusive upfront discounts and special corporate rates on business and guest class on Saudia across its extensive network.
- Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, has announced a partnership with the Arab National Bank (anb) to introduce the Visa Signature and Infinite credit cards, in collaboration with Visa Inc. These cards, tailored for anb customers who are members of the AlFursan Loyalty Program, offer upgraded privileges and opportunities to earn bonus miles and rewards, alongside exclusive benefits for local and international usage.
- Saudia and Season Tours have signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM 2024) in Dubai, establishing their commitment to fostering Saudi Arabia as a global tourism hub. This partnership combines Saudia’s extensive air services with Season Tours’ travel experiences, aimed to redefine Saudi tourism’s accessibility and connectivity.
- Saudia Holidays in collaboration with AlUla, the ancient oasis city in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, has announced a strategic partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed at the Arabian Travel Market 2024. This collaboration is set to enhance the travel experience to AlUla, providing tailored packages that cater to diverse tourist needs.
- Saudia Holidays and the Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) have inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), during the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) held in Dubai, to collaborate on promoting Mauritius as a premier touristic destination for the Kingdom’s residents.
Qatar Airways:
- Qatar Airways Takes Home the ‘Best Regional Airline Serving in the Middle East’, ‘Airline with the Best Business Class’ and ‘Best Travel App’ Accolades at the Business Traveller Middle East Awards 2024 at ATM Dubai.
