Cathay Pacific Asia Miles announces devaluation effective from October 2023

Cathay Pacific is the latest airline to announce miles devaluation. The mileage requirements for business class and first class awards have been adjusted for different flight lengths. In the case of ultra long-haul flights, business class awards have increased from 85,000 miles to 110,000 miles, representing a 29% increase. Similarly, first class awards on ultra long-haul flights have increased from 125,000 miles to 160,000 miles, reflecting a 28% increase.

Cathay Pacific is the latest airline to announce miles devaluation. The mileage requirements for business class and first class awards have been adjusted for different flight lengths. In the case of ultra long-haul flights, business class awards have increased from 85,000 miles to 110,000 miles, representing a 29% increase. Similarly, first class awards on ultra long-haul flights have increased from 125,000 miles to 160,000 miles, reflecting a 28% increase.

For long-haul flights, the mileage requirements have also changed. Business class awards now range from 70,000 miles to 84,000 miles, indicating a 20% increase. First class awards, on the other hand, have increased from 110,000 miles to 125,000 miles, representing a 14% increase.

In the case of medium flights, the mileage requirements have been adjusted as well. Business class awards have increased from 45,000 miles to 58,000 miles, which accounts for a 29% increase. Similarly, first class awards for medium flights have increased from 70,000 miles to 90,000 miles, also reflecting a 29% increase.

While there have been some minor reductions in award costs for longer economy flights, with a decrease of approximately 10%, the cost of certain shorter economy flights has increased by around 25%.
