Job Purpose
Skywards is the Emirates & Flydubai loyalty programme, designed to enhance members’ travel experience with exclusive benefits and rewards. Earn and spend miles the way they want, making their journey even more rewarding.
The Skywards Commercial Manager will be responsible for managing loyalty activities and providing support to Australia and New Zealand. This involves actively collaborating with HQ and market stakeholders to amplify commercial KPIs, leverage partnerships and drive member engagement. The position will play a key role in evolving and executing Market Action Plans and steer all facets of related initiatives, encompassing enrolment, sales activations, airline & other partnerships, enhancing member propositions and analytics.
Responsibilities
- Be the primary point of contact for all Emirates Skywards activities and support in local market(s), aligning to prevailing commercial and senior management objectives. Ensure comprehension and delivery of loyalty programme elements are appropriately championed across all stakeholders and touchpoints.
- Adhering to Emirates Skywards overall strategy, work closely with Head of Network Engagement and Country Manager to create local Market Action Plans, with structured quarterly reviews, to steer growth in Skywards KPIs. Support local management and peers integrate these into key account and regional business plans.
- Incorporate regular market intel, sales focus areas and member feedback to recommend opportune and competitive evolutions to program features, partnerships, benefits and products.
- Develop relevant localised loyalty initiatives, touchpoint tactics and sub-segment approaches to aid commercial outcomes and enhanced member propositions. Socialise best practices and contribute to expansion of Skywards toolkit.
- Collaborate with Head of Airline Partnerships to develop local FFP partnerships and optimise mutual outcomes, including day-to-day engagement, earn/reward/benefit structures, performance monitoring and related tasks.
- Manage overall partnership portfolio performance through forecasting, analysis and regular review meetings. Work with partner and marketing teams to increase partnership awareness and revenue. Help with any partner, sales and operational queries to ensure timely resolutions.
- Contribute to strategic projects, compliant data sharing practises, reward optimization as well as technical, legal and finance enablers.
- Coordinate local Skywards member events per defined strategies and internal processes, working closely with responsible HQ departments. These could entail sponsorship assets and other sales segment or partner engagement opportunities, with a particular focus on local elite member relationship building.
Working Conditions
- Typical Hours: Monday to Friday office hours, depending on the business requirement occasional evening and weekend work.
- Conditions: This is primarily 5-day office-based position, some travel may be required.

- Candidates must have the legal right to live and work unrestricted in Australia.
Qualifications & Experience
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or above in Commerce/Marketing/Economics or related field with a minimum of 8 years of experience in aviation management, loyalty industry and/or partner/relationship management with minimum of 5 years in a senior role.
- Relationship management skills: Ability to build and maintain effective relationships, both internal and external with the ability to work to a high-quality standard in a fast-paced environment. Executive presence and influence, with flair to negotiate robust contracts.
- Communication Skills: Ability to assimilate, interpret and communicate information quickly and effectively.
- Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to negotiate agreements that are mutually beneficial with the capability to persuade and negotiate at all levels.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret data and results with strong commercial awareness to problem solve.
- Self-motivation: Self-reliant and driven to achieve goals, self-motivated, pro-active and highly organised.
- Software proficiency skills: Proficient in tools such as MicroStrategy / Power BI
