IATA reports that planes were full in July

In July 2023, there was a notable surge of 26.2% in total traffic measured in revenue passenger-kilometers (RPKs) compared to July 2022. This increase means that on a global scale, traffic has now rebounded to 95.6% of pre-pandemic levels. Domestic traffic experienced a substantial upswing in July, marking a 21.5% rise when compared to July of the previous year. Impressively, it surpassed July 2019 results by 8.3%.

 

 

Delta changes to frequent flyer program

From 2024 status requirements will no longer be based on the number of flights and distance traveled. Instead, customers will need to spend $6,000 to reach Silver status. Those aspiring to attain the upper-level Diamond status will need to spend $35,000 annually.

 

 

Simplified paths to Status, more ways to earn: Delta transforms its SkyMiles loyalty program

Norwegian welcomed 2.1 million passengers in August

Norwegian had 2.1 million passengers and a load factor of 85.2 percent in August. Regularity was particularly high with 99.6 percent of all scheduled flights taking place. Norwegian launches new routes and tickets for next summer

Norwegian releases tickets for the summer 2024 programme. A total of 279 routes are now available and bookable for next year’s spring and summer season. SWISS to enlarge Premium Economy cabin for its Airbus A350s

SWISS has reached a further milestone in its project to add the Airbus A350-900 to its aircraft fleet: the cabin layout for the new long-haul twinjet has now been completed, finalizing how many seats will feature in each cabin class.
