Exhibitions, special stays and activations make the storied Brickell property Miami’s most
enticing destination for Art Week 2023.
Mandarin OrientalSet in the heart of one of the world’s most charismatic and exciting destinations, the team at Mandarin Oriental, Miami are looking forward to welcoming guests and locals alike with special dining and bar events, themed stay packages and a world- class contemporary art exhibition as part of Art Week.
Just a stone’s throw from Brickell City Center and the Design District, Wynwood and the Perez Art Museum, the hotel is perfectly situated to again showcase why Miami has become a key annual fixture in the global art scene. Running this year from 5-10 December, Art Week serves as the perfect introduction to the holiday season and as a lookahead to an exciting calendar of events throughout 2024.
As leading global galleries show contemporary art around the city, Mandarin Oriental, Miami is thrilled to once again partner with Los Angeles-based Art Angels. This year in the spotlight is artist Christopher “Flore” Florentino, an artist of the new school, as the hotel transforms into a gallery with an exhibition of his vibrant paintings. Entitled “Best In Show”, they merge street art influences with fine art techniques.
At the hotel’s grand entrance, guests will be greeted with a photo opportunity thanks to Flore’s large-scale “Ron Burgundy” custom vinyl piece. Elsewhere, ‘Love, Light and Peace’ will feature at the entrance to La Mar by Gastón Acurio, the cosmopolitan home of Peruvian gastronomy which has established itself as one of Miami’s most thrilling dining destinations.
Inside, Flore’s unique paintings and diptych Radiant Child are shown while, in true synchronicity of the decorative and culinary arts, guests can even enjoy Chef Diego Oka’s special dishes inspired by Flore’s works. In addition, artwork will be sold with a percentage of proceeds donated to His House Foundation. Also featuring as part of Art Week, Flore has conceptualised special signature cocktails in conjunction with our award-winning bartenders at MO Bar + Lounge.
