Minor Hotels, a renowned global hospitality enterprise boasting over 540 properties spread across 56 countries, is poised to bolster its footprint within India’s hospitality sector by aiming for the establishment of 50 new properties over the next decade. Focusing primarily on the upper-upscale and luxury segments, the company is anticipating keen interest from property owners for its esteemed brands such as Anantara, Avani, and NH Collection.

Recognizing significant prospects, especially in swiftly developing tier-two cities and airport locales, Minor Hotels is eyeing the upscale NH Hotels & Resorts for expansion. Embracing a dual approach of securing hotel management contracts and fostering greenfield developments, the company is committed to identifying promising locales, a strategy integral to its 46-year history of destination development.

While Minor Hotels commenced its Indian journey in 2017 with the inauguration of Oaks Bodhgaya in Bihar, a noteworthy milestone awaits later this year with the launch of Anantara Jaipur Hotel, marking the entry of its flagship luxury brand into the Indian market. To bolster this expansion, the establishment of a new office in Bengaluru underscores the company’s enduring dedication to the Indian market. The recent appointment of Vijay Krishnan as Vice President of Operations for India further solidifies its commitment, with a burgeoning team on the ground. By establishing a permanent presence in Bengaluru, Minor Hotels is strategically positioned to tap into burgeoning opportunities in southern India, foreseeing significant growth prospects in the region.

Minor Hotels’ brands have already garnered substantial recognition among Indian travelers, with Anantara experiencing rapid growth in annual room night production across its properties in Asia and the Middle East. Furthermore, as a member of GHA DISCOVERY, the world’s largest independent hotel alliance, Minor Hotels contributed to record revenue generated by GHA hotels in India in 2023. With an expanding membership base and increased spending by Indian members at GHA hotels, the company is witnessing a surge in revenue generation.

Highlighting its ambitious global expansion strategy, Minor Hotels intends to add over 200 hotels worldwide in the next three years. This growth trajectory aligns seamlessly with its expansion plans in India, marking a pivotal step in its journey towards becoming a dominant player in the global hospitality landscape.
