The Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha has undergone a notable expansion, which includes the addition of a new tropical garden. It was already revealed that Qatar Airways had intentions of opening a new lounge for their business class passengers, and this has been completed, providing a significant increase in capacity compared to the previous lounge.
GLOThe Al Mourjan Lounge at The Garden has opened and it is an enormous space, covering an area of 7,390 square meters (~79,500 square feet) and capable of accommodating 707 guests. This new lounge has significantly increased the airport’s business class lounge capacity and is great news for travelers as the current Al Mourjan Business Lounge tends to get overcrowded during peak periods.
The new lounge boasts a magnificent view of The Orchard, Hamad Airport’s stunning garden, and offers an extensive range of facilities, such as relaxation rooms, a fitness studio, a manicure and pedicure station, spa facilities, dedicated private spaces, and recreational areas.
Located in the North part of the terminal, the new Al Mourjan Lounge complements the existing Al Mourjan Lounge in the South part of the terminal. It is exclusively for eligible business class passengers, and oneworld Emerald and Sapphire members are typically directed to other lounges.
