SAS and Aeroméxico Announce New Codeshare Partnership

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) confirmed Monday that it has entered a new codeshare agreement with Aeroméxico, with tickets now available for travel beginning Dec. 6. The deal expands both airlines’ reach as SAS prepares to join the SkyTeam alliance in 2024–2025, where Aeroméxico is already a long-standing member.

Under the new arrangement, SAS travelers can book single-ticket itineraries from Copenhagen, Stockholm, and Oslo to Mexico City International Airport, connecting through key U.S. and Canadian gateways including San Francisco, Boston, Newark, Seattle, Chicago, Los Angeles, New York–JFK, Miami, Washington, D.C., and Toronto. This gives SAS passengers a streamlined option for reaching Mexico, a market the carrier does not serve directly.

Aeroméxico customers, in turn, will gain access to SAS-operated routes across Denmark, Norway, and Sweden, improving connectivity to Scandinavia and Northern Europe. As Aeroméxico continues to expand its long-haul fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners, the partnership supports the airline’s growing transatlantic ambitions.

Because both carriers are aligning under the SkyTeam umbrella, members of SAS EuroBonus and Aeroméxico Rewards will enjoy reciprocal loyalty perks, including the ability to earn and redeem miles across both networks, priority services, and lounge access where eligible. These benefits mirror the standard SkyTeam elite offerings and strengthen SAS’s ongoing transition out of Star Alliance.

The codeshare is part of SAS’s broader strategy to rebuild its long-haul network after restructuring efforts and to deepen cooperation with future alliance partners. Aeroméxico, meanwhile, continues to enhance its North American and European connectivity following recent fleet growth and network expansion.
