Scandinavian Airlines is set to enhance connectivity across Scandinavia and beyond with the launch of its summer 2025 traffic program, further establishing Copenhagen Airport as its global hub. The extensive expansion brings the total to 278 routes for the season, strengthening SAS' role in connecting Northern Europe to the world and providing travelers with more efficient and convenient travel options.
SASSAS’ summer 2025 schedule marks its largest yet in terms of international reach, providing a total of 23 million seats—an increase of 2.2 million seats compared to the previous year. This advancement includes Madrid, Budapest, Krakow, Lyon, Wroclaw, and Nuuk in Greenland, among others, with most flights departing from Copenhagen, complemented by frequent connections from Oslo, Stockholm, and other Scandinavian cities.
The schedule also includes new intercontinental routes to Seoul with four weekly flights, Seattle with five weekly flights, and Beirut with three weekly departures from Copenhagen and two from Stockholm. Stockholm will also feature new direct flights to Reykjavík and Bodø. Oslo will have daily flights to New York (JFK) and weekly flights to Rhodes, while Bergen will see two new weekly flights to Malaga.

Strengthened reach
The expanded summer program reinforces Copenhagen Airport as a global hub for seamless international travel to and from Northern Europe. Its strategic location ensures smooth, efficient connections for passengers traveling across the region or to and from the rest of the world.
In Sweden, the investment in domestic traffic has resulted in a fully expanded and extensively improved network ahead of the summer season, with a 54% increase in flights. This growth, which includes the opening of the new Halmstad and Kalmar routes earlier this year, aligns with the plans presented at the end of 2024, making SAS the main carrier in Sweden offering greater flexibility and the most comprehensive connectivity to date—both domestically and internationally.
“This summer program represents an important milestone for SAS as we embark on our largest summer expansion ever, introducing 28 new routes and significantly increasing capacity to 23 million seats. By broadening our network and optimizing travel options, we will provide our customers with unparalleled access to destinations across Europe, North America, Asia, and the Middle East, while continuing to consolidate Copenhagen’s role as a European world-class travel hub,” says Henrik Winell, Vice President Network at SAS.

Expanded flight frequencies
As an additional measure to improve connectivity via Copenhagen Airport, SAS is increasing services on several popular routes, including Toronto, Berlin, Florence, and Prague. These improvements will create 70% more opportunities to connect across the 122 destinations served from the Copenhagen hub.
