New payment solution from Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Invenco will replace their legacy payment platform in the U.S.
GLOShell will implement a new payment solution in their network of nearly 13,000 locations in the United States by the end of 2024. They have chosen Invenco iNFX for this rollout. The existing payment platform of the company will be replaced with a flexible, hardware-independent solution based on microservices. This new solution aims to enable Shell’s branded retailers to offer faster transactions, improved uptime, and the ability to introduce new capabilities and features. iNFX is an Internet of Things (IoT) based platform managed through the cloud, which includes the electronic payment server (EPS) for Shell.
According to Walt Gothard, North American Business Technology Manager at Shell, the company is committed to delivering excellent value to consumers, particularly in payments and compliance. He stated that Gilbarco Veeder-Root Retail Solutions accepted the challenge of upgrading the EPS system for Shell’s retailer network by utilizing Invenco’s INFX platform to implement the solution across nearly 13,000 sites.
Karthik Ganapathi, President of Gilbarco Veeder-Root Retail Solutions, mentioned that Shell sought a seamless transition to a new payment system for their retailer locations. The goal was to enable faster transactions, quicker time-to-market for new features, and simplified management through cloud services. Ganapathi stated that their scalable, flexible, and extensible payment solution would accelerate growth in Shell’s site network.
The partnership between Gilbarco Veeder-Root and Shell is expected to revolutionize the customer engagement landscape in retail and create new opportunities to enhance productivity and loyalty for Shell branded retailers, as per the global supplier.
