Swiss Post has fully digitalized payments at its fuel stations with Hectronic technology. The new Post Tanken app lets users choose a pump and pay via digital fuel card, Visa or Mastercard without using a terminal. At about 60 stations, Hectronic’s HecVision systems also support contactless payments with debit/credit cards, PostFinance Card, coupons and TWINT. Swiss Post is advancing its nationwide digitalization strategy by introducing fully cashless, app-based refueling across its fuel-station network, operated by Post Company Cars AG, thanks to new technology developed by Hectronic. The rollout marks a significant step in modernizing mobility services for both private and fleet customers across Switzerland.

A Fully Digital Refueling Experience

Following the integration of Hectronic’s contactless fuel dispensers, the company has now digitized the Post fuel card, enabling customers to authorize and pay for fuel directly from their smartphones. With the new Post Tanken app, users can:

  • Select the Post fuel station and specific pump

  • Start fueling remotely without using an on-site terminal

  • Pay using the digital Post fuel card, Visa, or Mastercard

The traditional physical fuel card remains available, but the digital option streamlines the experience with shorter wait times and zero contact—an increasingly valued feature as Swiss consumers adopt mobile-first payment habits.

Contactless Payment Options for Every Customer

Across roughly 60 Post fuel stations, Hectronic’s HecVision dispensers now support a wide range of payment methods, ensuring broad accessibility:

  • Debit and credit cards

  • Mastercard

  • PostFinance Card

  • Discount coupons

  • TWINT, Switzerland’s most widely used mobile payment system

TWINT users can authorize fueling by scanning a QR code at the pump or through the app directly. With TWINT usage surpassing 5 million users nationwide, its integration underscores Swiss Post’s push to align fuel services with the country’s dominant digital-payment ecosystem.

Driving Switzerland’s Mobility Digitalization

The initiative aligns with broader trends in Switzerland, where digital payments and autonomous fueling systems have grown rapidly. European fuel networks increasingly invest in cloud-based authorization, remote fueling apps, and unattended payment systems to enhance fleet management and customer convenience. Hectronic—already active across Germany, Austria, and the Nordics—has played a key role in supporting this shift.

By making refueling faster, more convenient, and entirely cashless, Swiss Post reinforces its position as a leader in sustainable mobility infrastructure. For fleet operators, the digital fuel card also enables better cost tracking, automated accounting, and real-time usage data—important features in modern fleet management.

The Post Tanken app is now available for download on both the Apple App Store and Google Play, making the new digital services accessible to private drivers and business fleet users alike.
