Use your Bluetooth headphones
Connect your Bluetooth headphones to the individual screens of the Economy Class inflight entertainment system (1) for a more comfortable and sustainable flight experience.
Using Bluetooth headphones allows for better sound quality, greater freedom of movement and also helps to reduce the environmental impact since it reduces the use of plastic, disposable electrical and electronic devices. (1) Only available on routes operated by Airbus A330-900 and A321LR
TAP PortugalTAP Air Portugal is now offering long-haul Economy Class passengers the ability to connect their own Bluetooth headphones to the in-flight entertainment system. This feature, enabled via a software update, delivers seamless audio streaming directly from the individual seatback screens aboard select aircraft—enhancing comfort and giving travelers freedom from tangled wires and subpar audio.
Modern Fleet, Better Experience
The Bluetooth capability is available across TAP’s long-haul fleet composed of 19 Airbus A330neo and 13 Airbus A321neoLR aircraft—delivering a consistent, modern in-flight experience. However, it’s not yet supported on the three older A330ceo aircraft that remain part of TAP’s long-haul fleet.
Comfort, Convenience & Sustainability in One
This upgrade provides superior sound quality and convenience over the standard disposable headphones previously offered. Moreover, it marks a meaningful stride toward reducing waste: the shift helps eliminate single-use plastic and electronic components, aligning with TAP’s sustainability goals.
This initiative builds on previous environmental measures the airline has implemented—such as distributing headphones only upon request and redesigning headphone packaging in both Economy and Business classes.
Passengers’ Freedom to Stay Connected
On board A330-900 and A321LR aircraft, Economy Class travelers now enjoy not only Bluetooth connectivity but also improved audio-visual engagement, including broader content options, better sound, and more freedom of movement.
TAP Continues to Lead in Sustainable Travel Innovation
This forward-looking enhancement underscores TAP’s evolving commitment to delivering a more refined, sustainable travel experience. By blending technological upgrades with eco-conscious practices, TAP prioritizes both passenger comfort and environmental responsibility—setting a clear example in the aviation industry.
