TikTokTikTok Shop is increasing its commission fees for UK sellers from 5% to 9%, effective 2 September. This adjustment aligns with the platform’s strategy to create the “marketplace of the future,” with a strong emphasis on live commerce and shoppable content.
Additionally, TikTok Shop is launching a “seller missions” program, allowing sellers to lower their fees by producing a specified number of live or shoppable videos, as reported by Retail Week. As part of this initiative, sellers can collaborate with popular creators on the app to meet these targets. TikTok Shop believes this incentive will help sellers expand their reach through engaging live and shoppable content.
Since its inception in 2021, TikTok Shop has kept its seller fees unchanged. The platform emphasized that its fees remain “among the most competitive in the market” as it continues to invest in enhancements.

Furthermore, TikTok plans to introduce a co-funded free shipping model on 4 September, allowing sellers to offer free shipping by sharing part of the cost. This initiative aims to boost order conversions by broadening the range of products available with free shipping.
Jan Wilk, TikTok Shop UK’s head of operations, commented, “Our goal is to provide the best experience for our sellers and buyers. This move allows us to invest more in developing the marketplace of the future, including enhanced operations and services to support our sellers’ success. Sellers and brands that actively engage with their community through live and shoppable videos are the most successful on TikTok Shop, and we are confident that our new initiatives will drive even greater sales.”
